As a recognition of our efforts towards sustainable tourism, we have been awarded the Sustainable Travel Finland label.

SOCIALLY SUSTAINABLE WORKPLACE

It is important to us to be a company that operates in a socially sustainable way. Too often in the tourism industry, workers’ rights are not respected, and the seasonal nature of the work makes it difficult to improve working conditions.

At Rukan Kuksa, we develop our work environment with a simple idea: “We want this to be a pleasant place to work.” This goal is achieved by listening to our employees, treating everyone equally, and offering fair compensation for their work.

LSJ Group has been committed to the long-term development of its operations in line with the principles of sustainable development. To ensure environmentally responsible practices, we are currently working under the EcoCompass certification, allowing us to systematically monitor and improve our environmental impact.

EcoCompass is based on ten clear environmental management criteria that help us reduce our environmental footprint and develop our operations in a sustainable way.

We operate in harmony with nature and respect the pristine Arctic environment in everything we do. We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, improving recycling, and minimizing food waste. We use renewable energy solutions and prioritize locally and responsibly sourced ingredients.

At Rukan Kuksa, as well as in our other restaurants, saunas, accommodation services, and tour operator activities, sustainability and respect for nature are at the heart of everything we do. We offer our guests authentic experiences in unspoiled nature – responsibly and sustainably.
